We are used to seeing God as a father and tend to project the relationships we might have with the father figures in our lives onto the Divine. The Teachings of Union teach us to consider God as more than just a father, but as our Ultimate Lover. By applying the Mirror Exercise in our daily life, we realize that ultimately God is everywhere, in everything, at any moment. He is whatever we need Him to be in order to feel loved and supported on our spiritual journey back to our home in Union with Him.
